Nancy Pelosi Playing Hardball With The
President Over Stimulus Checks Costs The Democrats Seats

Become The Face Of Failure In The Press For
Congressional Democrats In The 2020 Elections

The results of the November 3, 2020 U.S.
elections reveal Democrats fared worse than expected.
For weeks leading up to the election the Democrats were
stating there would be a "Blue Wave" of wins in Congress
(blue is the color of the Democratic party, while red is
that of the Republicans). However, the Democrats lost
two seats in the House and are struggling to make
in-roads in the Republican controlled Senate.
For months U.S. House Speaker, Nancy
Pelosi, has been playing hardball with president Donald
Trump, regarding issuing a new round of stimulus checks
to financially distressed Americans during the damaging
coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).
When the president was released from the
hospital, Pelosi got into an argument with him that very
day over the second coronavirus stimulus package. She
began threatening to have him removed on grounds she
deems him crazy. Then, he responded by threatening to
have her removed on grounds he deems her crazy (Republican President Donald Trump
And Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Try To Get Each Other Thrown Out
Of Office).
Trump immediately offered to sign a
stripped down, second stimulus package to quickly get
checks out to Americans ($1,200 for individuals and
$3,400 for couples with children). However, as it did
not have all the items Pelosi wanted, quite a few of
which have nothing to do with coronavirus (green
initiatives, election funding), she refused to send him
a stimulus deal to sign.
People whose bills were past due and
those on the brink of eviction last month, hold Pelosi
in contempt for her decision in rejecting Trump's offer
that could have been a financial lifeline for them. Last
month my suggestion was to take Trump's deal regarding a
stripped down stimulus to quickly get money to the
public. Then work on a third stimulus package where
other items Pelosi wanted could have been properly
debated, along with items the Republicans favored for
businesses.
However, no such alternative was taken
up by tone deaf Pelosi, who has greatly enriched herself
and her family via her role in Congress, engaging in
illegal activity such as insider trading. I'm of the
belief Pelosi's obstinate conduct last month regarding
the second stimulus packageburned the Democrats in
Congress at the polls.

As Pelosi represents the Democrats in
Congress as their leader and people saw her repeatedly
squabbling with Trump over this matter, even doing news
and Hollywood interviews regarding the issue, it clearly
made a negative impact with Americans at the voting
booth who have been suffering financially under the
pandemic. Hence, the lack of a "Blue Wave" and some
Democrats losing their seats.
Many Americans have lost their
businesses, homes, cars and credit cards. Many now have
bad credit, which will hamper them renting an apartment
or house (Homelessness In America Is
Increasing Due To Coronavirus).
Millions of Americans are in default,
having missed consecutive months of credit card payments
due to coronavirus costing them income. Millions of
Americans have seen their credit card accounts closed
after the standard 6-month of non-payment period
elapsed. This has created an unforeseen nightmare of
financial loss for credit card companies (billions of
dollars in losses).
It would have been more prudent for
Congress to have issued stimulus payments every month
for several months, as it would have helped Americans
keep their homes, cars and credit cards. Then made this
money back via a sensible government tax plan via a 2%
to 5% increase on people making $100,000 and up.
Now, Americans are angry and bankrupt,
and banks/lending institutions all over America have an
enormous amount of red ink due to massive revenue
declines, which places them in danger of financial
collapse.
Proper stimulus payments would have been
an investment in the economy that could have been
recouped later via taxing the more financially healthy
in the country beginning in 2021 (as stated above).
Instead, one round of stimulus checks was issued during
the 8-month pandemic, which is bad. Many people who were
entitled to unemployment did not get it, which is
another issue. That's not how you manage an economy from
a congressional standpoint. Even on a basic human level
it lacked compassion.

While you weren't sleeping: Democrats disappoint
in House and Senate races
November 4, 2020- While much of the
attention Tuesday night was focused on the
as-yet-to-be-decided presidential race, there were
thousands of races settled, from state legislative seats
and ballot initiatives to senators and governors facing
reelection. Here are a few of the big takeaways from
2020’s down-ballot races.
With the caveat that we won’t know the
final results of a number of races for a while and that
Democrats saw calls go their way well after Election Day
2018 as more votes were counted, Tuesday night was a
disappointment for Democrats who went in thinking they
would expand their 30-plus-seat margin in the House but
may actually wind up with a slimmer majority.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Democrats had
taken two seats they expected to flip in North Carolina
but lost at least seven, per Associated Press calls: two
in Florida, one in South Carolina, one in Oklahoma, one
in Minnesota, one in New Mexico and at least one in
Iowa. They had hoped to net 10 seats in Texas and may
not win any of them, while a number of incumbents are
locked in tighter-than-expected races...

The House Didn’t Flip, But the Results Were a Flop
November 5, 2020 - Amid a historically
uncertain election, at least one thing is clear:
Democrats will keep the House of Representatives in
January 2021. But no one’s popping any champagne.
It will be a smaller, louder, and
perhaps more ideologically volatile majority than what
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has led over the last two
years. And it could be full of political tripwires for
her—and for a possible President Joe Biden—if they’re in
the position of governing while Republicans retain their
grip on the Senate.
A slew of moderate lawmakers, whose wins
in the 2018 midterms handed the gavel again to Pelosi,
have lost or are on track to lose their seats.
Meanwhile, several establishment Democrats are set to be
replaced by staunch progressives, shifting Democrats’
political center of gravity further left in the lower
chamber of Congress...

Election splits Congress, GOP bolstered as
Democrats falte
November 5, 2020 - WASHINGTON (AP) — The
election scrambled seats in the House and Senate but
ultimately left Congress much like it began, deeply
split as voters resisted big changes despite the heated
race at the top of the ticket for the White House.
It’s an outcome that dampens Democratic
demands for a bold new agenda, emboldens Republicans and
almost ensures partisan gridlock regardless of who wins
the presidency. Or perhaps, as some say, it provides a
rare opening for modest across-the-aisle cooperation.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi was on track to
keep control of the Democratic House, but saw her
majority shrinking and her leadership called into
question. Control of the Senate tilted Republicans' way
as they fended off an onslaught of energized
challengers, though a few races remained undecided
Wednesday...
