California Wildfires Ravage The
State Necessitating The Need For Computerized Irrigation Systems
November 12. 2018
42 people have died (rest in peace) and at least 200 are
unaccounted for due to the California wildfires that began gripping the state on
November 8, 2018. The devastation has been widespread. Videos have been uploaded
to social networking showing people fleeing the fires in what must have been
terrifying for them. The fire has destroyed many structures, including the homes
of celebrities such as Robin Thicke and Miley
Cyrus.
As of today, the fire is only 10% contained due to the Santa Ana
winds fanning the flames. Helicopters have been working in shifts to take small
amounts of water from places such as Westlake Village and the Pacific Ocean,
then dropping it on the raging wildfires. However, due to the fact there is a
limited amount of helicopters available, the impact has been minimal.
In October 2017, I posted an item on Twitter stating the
government needs to invest in water irrigation systems for known trouble spots
in California (and again last week). After all, this is not the first time fires
have hit Malibu. However, this is the worst is has been. The fires and ensuing
damage are getting worse each time.
