Former Hollywood actress Stacey Dash, 52, was arrested over a domestic violence incident that occurred last week in Florida, where she lives with her husband, attorney Jeffrey Marty, 44, and his three minor children. Dash also has two children from previous relationships.

During the domestic violence incident, the family were all arguing and one of Marty's children got in Dash's face. Dash pushed her away and Marty put her in a chokehold. Dash called police and they arrested her, as they saw no visible marks on the actress.

Dash, who is biracial (African-American and Mexican) was listed as white on the arrest report. Florida's Pasco Sheriff's Department stated, "Stacey Dash was never asked her race by the arresting deputy, nor did she volunteer any information about her race. The arresting deputy assumed that she was Hispanic." However, the officer selected white on the report anyway. She was also erroneously listed as "Stacey Dash Lauretta."

Dash's husband, who in my estimation, should have been arrested as well, as he is the greater offender, bailed her out of jail on a $500 bond. Marty, her husband of 17-months, has informed the court that he does not wish to press charges. Dash has been a victim of domestic violence before in one of her three previous marriages.

Dash married Marty after 10-days of dating, which was not a good idea. People should get to properly know each other before marriage. It is not a union that should be rushed into on a whim. Dash is now in a very volatile situation, which is dangerous for all involved. It is my hope no one will get hurt again.

Dash applied for a public defender attorney, as she has been out of work since her last job in 2016 as a Fox News contributor. Hollywood has been ostracizing her for supporting U.S. President, Donald Trump. Therefore, her acting career has dried up.
