The Associated Press is reporting that Duke and Duchess of Sussex (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle) have arrived back in London, England after living in California's Montecito for the past 6-years. It was announced they plan to live in England for a while. I'm of the belief it is due to the health problems of Prince Harry's dad King Charles and wanting to spend more time with him.

The couple fled the royal family publicly alleging racism in an interview with Oprah Winfrey,  regarding claims some of the Windsors were racist and discriminatory, due to Markle being a mixed race Black woman (and now her children with Harry as well). Meghan is half African-American and half White-American (Jewish). It remains to be seen how they will be received in England upon their return, which has many monarchists who dispute the racism claims. The couple remain quite popular in the Commonwealth of Nations. However, they are retired royals and have not been undertaking many formal appearances in Commonwealth nations.

Some in the U.S. and U.K. press are stating the Sussexes are broke and that is why they are returning to England, where the royal family is worth billions. However, a few years ago Harry and Meghan had signed a deal with Netflix worth over $100,000,000. Prince Harry also did a book deal said to be worth $20,000,000, regarding a tome that angered many royalists in Britain, as he told all on his family.

Prince Harry's mom, the late, great and beautiful Princess Diana, left him and his brother Prince William $30,000,000 to split evenly. Additionally, since her death Princess Diana's name has continued to generate enormous revenues due to her enduring popularity. Therefore, I do not believe the Sussexes are broke with all those revenue streams. which have been invested as well.

I really thought that Meghan, who can act, would return to acting after she and Harry retired as working royals. She is much more famous now than when she did the popular cable television show "Suits" and several television movies. There are actresses who do not have Meghan's current level of fame that command $7,000,000 to $10,000,000 per picture in Hollywood. I thought Meghan would do several motion picture films per year designated for movie theatres, then streaming, cable and television. This would have earned tens of millions per year.

Instead, Meghan chose to release a cooking show and associated products called "As Ever." While I love that genre and Meghan's products look good, it's very difficult to reach the top in that business, as it is dominated by legends like Martha Stewart, Ina Garten, Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver, among others. Many have tried to conquer it, such as actress Gwyneth Paltrow (who totally ripped off Martha Stewart in so many ways) and failed miserably. Ironically, King Charles has a successful food line called Duchy Originals, which are organic products that have sold quite well for decades.

In closing, I state all this regarding Harry and Meghan's finances, because they have repeatedly cited security costs as important, which is understandable. They have two young children and some people out there took this royal dispute too far, and could harm the couple and or their children. I would hope no one does such a thing to Prince Harry or Prince William's families. Nonetheless, some people are dangerous. Therefore, security is needed.
