Mark Zuckerberg Ordered Into Parliament And Congress Over Cambridge Analytica Data Mining Scandal

Business Insider is reporting Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has gone missing in the face of his company's stock price plunging, costing them $37 billion dollars, due to the Cambridge Analytica data mining scandal. Cambridge Analytica data mined the profiles, likes and dislikes of 50 million Facebook users, using an app called "thisisyourdigitallife" then tailored ads they purchased on the site, to encourage people to vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election, and the Brexit vote, which entailed Britain's vote to leave the European Union (EU).

The Guardian and the New York Times broke the story this past weekend and set off a firestorm in doing so. The U.S., UK and EU governments have opened investigations into the scandal, demanding answers regarding the privacy of Facebook users. Zuckerberg has been sent letters to appear in the British Parliament and the U.S. Congress.

Facebook claims to have over 2 billion users, but the number is highly overstated and inflated. Cambridge Analytica. Thus far, no evidence has been presented indicating Cambridge Analytica has broken the law in data mining publicly available information on Facebook. The social impact of the scandal is taking root, as the hashtag #deletefacebook circulates online.

Cambridge Analytica: Warrant sought to search firm's computers and servers

5 hours ago - The UK’s data watchdog is seeking a warrant to search computers and servers used by Cambridge Analytica amid an investigation into the firm’s involvement in worldwide elections. Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham criticised CA for being "unco-operative" with her probe as she confirmed the application for a warrant to help her examine the firm's activities.

Meanwhile, further claims about CA included allegations the company offered to entrap politicians and used ex-spies to dig for dirt on potential targets. But the firm's boss Alexander Nix claimed it was the target of media attacks because of its role in Donald Trump's successful US election campaign...
