Many Are Deleting Facebook App Over Privacy Violations

In Britain and America, law enforcement need a warrant to wiretap a person and or business. Civilians and companies are not allowed to wiretap people under any circumstances. It is a criminal offense. However, according to testimony in the British Parliament yesterday by Cambridge Analytica whistleblower Christopher Wylie, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg and his company, have been secretly and illegally listening to people in their homes and offices, in what is criminal behavior.

And make no mistake, once they are illegally listening to you, they can trigger the webcam of your computers and laptops and watch you in your home and business as well, in an assertion the Judiciary Report has made for years, and was later exposed by Wikileaks, regarding the FBI using Amazon's Alexa to spy on people in their homes (Wikileaks Releases Hacked U.S. Federal Government Documents Showing The CIA And FBI Are Spying On People In Their Homes Via Hacking Smart TVs And Backdoors In Computer And Phone Operating System Confirming Previous Judiciary Report Site Claims).

Prior to all these scandals breaking, I did warn on this site that former FBI Director, Robert S. Mueller, one of the most evil people in existence, got his hooks into Zuckerberg in order to use Facebook to secretly spy on domestic and international citizens, companies and GOVERNMENTS (Blackberry Has Sued Facebook For Copyright Infringement).

I also warned on this website that Facebook would fall over the brazen thievery and corruption transpiring at the company, which has now happened (Facebook Loses $70 Billion Dollars Over Cambridge Analytica Data Mining Scandal And Global Boycott).

Former Cambridge Analytica employee turned whistleblower, Christopher Wylie, testifying in the British Parliament

The Cambridge Analytica scandal broke a week ago, regarding the London based company data mining 50 million Facebook user's profiles/accounts, to tailor ads in support of Donald Trump in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and Brexit in Britain, which is the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union (Facebook Loses $37 Billion In One Day Over Cambridge Analytica Scandal). Both votes prevailed. However, it should be noted, data mining publicly available accounts is not illegal. However, if you data mine hidden/private items on accounts, that is illegal, as it can be classified as hacking.

This week news broke that Facebook has been collecting the text messages and phone calls of its site users for years (Facebook Is In More Trouble As News Emerges They Have Been Collecting Your Phone Calls And Text Messages For Years). This is illegal. However, Facebook claims all site users consented to this invasive conduct when they signed up to join the site. It is in the fine print in the terms of service and many Facebook users expressed shock at the news. However, it still violates hacking and wiretapping laws.

Zuckerberg has defied a published letter from the British parliament, sent to his office and posted online, directing him to come into the legislature about the privacy abuse scandals at Facebook. He refused to show up for the hearing and due to fear of criminal charges. Days prior to the letter being sent to Zuckerberg, the British police raided Cambridge Analytica, indicating the scandals surrounding Facebook is no longer a civil matter, but a criminal case.

Zuckerberg is also in trouble in the European Parliament, who are angry the Brexit vote prevailed and Britain is leaving the European Union (EU). As stated above, Cambridge Analytica's data mining of Facebook, was also used by the Brexit campaign. The EU wants to hit Zuckerberg and Facebook with billions of euros in fines and a criminal investigation, which could lead to charges.

Side Bar: Ironically, as covered on the site months ago, Zuckerberg covers the audio mic and webcam on his laptop not wanting anyone to spy on him in his home or office.

Cambridge Analytica Whistleblower: Facebook Able to Listen to You at Home and Work

March 27, 2018 - Cambridge Analytica whistleblower Christoper Wylie, appearing before a committee of British MPs on Tuesday, said that Facebook has the ability to spy on users in their homes and offices.  The British parliament is investigating Cambridge Analytica's involvement in the Brexit election. MP Damian Collins, who chaired the committee, asked Wylie whether Facebook has the ability to listen to what people are talking about in order to better target them with ads.

"There's been various speculation about the fact that Facebook can, through the Facebook app on your smartphone, listen in to what people are talking about and discussing and using that to prioritize the advertising as well," Collins said. "Other people would say, no, they don't think it's possible. It's just that the Facebook system is just so good at predicting what you're interested in that it can guess." He asked for Wylie's thoughts on the possibility.

"On a comment about using audio and processing audio, you can use it for, my understanding generally of how companies use it... not just Facebook, but generally other apps that pull audio, is for environmental context," Wylie said. "So if, for example, you have a television playing versus if you're in a busy place with a lot of people talking versus a work environment." He clarified, "It's not to say they're listening to what you're saying. It's not natural language processing. That would be hard to scale. But to understand the environmental context of where you are to improve the contextual value of the ad itself" is possible...
