Boris Johnson

As stated previously on the site, I am of the belief the partial lockdown in Britain by prime minister Boris Johnson, is inadequate to stem the spread of the dangerous coronavirus (Covid-19). The airports are open. The trains and tubes are running with no social distancing. Travellers are not wearing masks and gloves. I understand essential workers need to use transport by mandatory rules need to be put in place, such as wearing masks and gloves, and deep cleaning public transport at night.

Johnson and his cabinet are still pushing "herd immunity" meaning everyone should contract the potentially deadly virus and "take it on the chin." Johnson even joked about the virus, stating people should go out as they normally would, and he "shook the hands" of coronavirus patients. Then, he contracted coronavirus, he and his cabinet downplayed it, and the virus nearly killed him (Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson Released From Hospital After Nearly Dying And Being Placed In Intensive Care With The Coronavirus).

Due to Johnson failing to lockdown Britain for months, being the last elected head of state to do so in the world (not to mention, the first world leader to contract coronavirus) on social networking he is being called "Boris the Butcher" and "Boris the Butcher of Downing Street" due to the high number of coronavirus deaths in Britain. Britons are demanding an investigation into Johnson's actions, which is being branded criminal negligence.

The coronavirus is no laughing matter. 2,000,000 people worldwide are infected. It has killed 126,000 worldwide. It has killed 13,000 in Britain. Medical science does not fully understand all of its behaviors yet. However, there is an emerging medical picture of long term damage to the lungs, heart and reproductive organs. That will breed new problems and costs for the National Health Service (NHS) in treating heart, lung and reproductive organ damage.

The fact of the matter is Britain's highly popular Premier League is set to reopen in a matter of a few weeks. 15,000,000 people attended Premier League matches in Britain each year. This will mean ticket holders (some of whom are season ticket holders who always attend) will be on buses, trains and tubes to attend matches that are packed. Social distancing in a packed stadium is not going to happen. It would be very impractical. The same goes for all of Britain's other sporting events.

Over the next few weeks, Johnson needs to ramp up Britain's efforts to flatten the curve where coronavirus is concerned. That means only essential workers being allowed out during a strict lockdown. That means wearing masks and gloves on public transport, and deep cleaning them at night. That means stringent coronavirus testing at airports, which are being done in places like China. However, closing the airports would be best.

I am concerned that once sporting events, restaurants and pubs reopen, if the curve is not sufficiently flattened and new public practices put in place concerning sanitizing, it will cause the infection rate in Britain to skyrocket.

Johnson's government is also not reporting the accurate number of infections and deaths from coronavirus, which is inappropriate. People who are infected and or have died in care homes are not being added to the infection or death tally. How can doctors and scientists gain an accurate picture of what is transpiring with faulty data being submitted by the government.

Johnson finally came clean this past Sunday and admitted he nearly died from coronavirus.

I want everyone worldwide to be safe and healthy. It alarms me that so many risks are being taken with people's health and lives in Britain (by the Tory party). This must stop. The Johnson cabinet must do better for Britain. I gave the British government warnings from 2018 regarding pestilence breaking out and the risks of being unprepared.

Britain has shown itself to be the most vulnerable to pestilence, solely due to the under-funding of the NHS and the negligence of Tory party politicians (David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson). The NHS is very competent and can do the job very well, but how can they fully care for everyone and rapidly when you keep under-funding them.

Healthcare doesn't work by magic. It requires money and proper planning. It takes time, grit, dedication, hard work and funding to buy the adequate amount of medical equipment and supplies, and to pay for medical staff's salaries. The under-funding must be corrected immediately for the life and safety of the British people.
